Prevention & Management of Pressure Ulcers

Many long term care patients are immobilized due to spinal cord injuries and health complications, rendering them confined to wheelchairs and/or beds for lengthy periods of the day and night. As a result of this lack of mobility, these patients frequently experience skin ulcers caused by excess pressure on areas of their bodies; pressure ulcers are manifested in four stages (from superficial redness to deep wounds extending into the muscle, tendon or bone) and can lead to severe complications, infection, amputation and even death. Making Sense (Glossary)

Sensel - XSENSOR sensors are actually made up of a matrix of many sensing cells. Each sensing cell is an individual pressure sensor. To more easily discuss the individual sensing cells, XSENSOR refers to each cell in the matrix as a "sensel".

ActiveSync - ActiveSync is the software program that allows you to synchronize data between your desktop computer and your X3 DISPLAY device. Most of the help for ActiveSync is available from the ActiveSync help menu on your desktop computer.
